Kenya have barely played since the 2003 World Cup semi-finals |
A team appointed by the International Cricket Council arrives in Kenya this week to help in a row threatening the country's future at the top level. The African Cricket Association delegation will be in Nairobi on Friday to meet the two rival parties.
The government replaced the Kenya Cricket Association with Cricket Kenya, after alleging misuse of funds.
"We are ready to meet them and put our point across. We don't have many things to discuss," said KCA head Sharad Ghai.
Cricket Kenya has not yet been acknowledged by the ICC, which has since withheld development funding. It has so far been silent on the visit.
The ACA team, led by Zimbabwe's Peter Chingoka and including Ray Mali of South Africa, is expected to forward its findings to the ICC Board.
A motion to strip Kenya of its one-day status is likely to be tabled at the ICC's annual general meeting in June.
A group of leading players refused to play for the national team while the KCA was in charge because of contractual differences.
And the team's English coach Andy Moles quit to take a similar post with Scotland.
