South Africa batsman Boeta Dippenaar will miss the one-day series in India in November to recover from a wrist injury which requires surgery. Team physio Shane Jabaar said: "Boeta saw a hand specialist this morning and a decision was taken for him to undergo an operation on Monday in Cape Town."
Dippenaar also misses four one-day internationals against New Zealand in the ongoing series in South Africa.
He was replaced at the last minute at Cape Town on Friday by Andrew Puttick.
AB de Villiers had also reported injured - though his injury is thought to be a short-term niggle.
Puttick was bowled by Shane Bond for a duck at Cape Town.
