Damien Martyn admitted Lady Luck had shone on Australia in the second Test against New Zealand in Wellington. Justin Langer was dropped on nought before going on to make 46, while Martyn saw two cut shots just miss the stumps before completing a century.
"There was definitely something there for their bowlers and luck probably didn't go their way," Martyn said.
"A couple of catches went down and we played and missed a lot. It could easily have been a different day."
The first day at the Basin Reserve was washed out and the Kiwis were hoping to take advantage of bowler-friendly conditions on day two.

When Australia were 174-4, they were competing well, but poor bowling after tea saw the tourists add 163 runs to reach stumps on 337-5.
Spinner Daniel Vettori, who took 2-74, said: "There was plenty in the wicket and we were disappointed they were 91 for one after the first session.
"We had a number of chances, then after the second session we were very happy with our position, but we let it slip a little too easily."
Martyn, who put on an unbroken 90 with Adam Gilchrist in the final session, is hoping the Australians can add to the home side's misery on Sunday and get into a position to go 2-0 up in the three-Test series.
"We've shown before that we can tough it out, and Gilly's there now which makes it dangerous for posting a big score tomorrow then trying to bowl them out," he added.
