India's Kumble eyes 300-plus lead
Anil Kumble
We need to bat session-wise to build a healthy lead
Anil Kumble
India leg-spinner Anil Kumble believes a target of 300-plus will be enough for his side to win the second Test against Pakistan in Calcutta.

"It won't be easy to bat on the fourth and fifth days," said Kumble, after his 3-98 effort restricted Pakistan to 393, a deficit of 14 runs.

India then moved to 133-3 at stumps on the third day to lead by 147.

Kumble said: "We expect the pitch to help spinners from the fourth day as it did against South Africa in December."

Kumble reckoned any second innings total that India can garner of 300-odd would be more than handy.

"It'll be good to have a score in that range so that the spinners can have an attacking field," he said

"We need to bat session-wise to build a healthy lead."

After centuries from Yousuf Youhana and Younis Khan, Pakistan's batting fell apart on Friday.

Kumble said: "Younis and Yousuf batted very well, especially their running between the wickets was superb. But still, you can't expect a second-day pitch to help spinners."
