Even India centurion Virender Sehwag was disappointed as Sachin Tendulkar just missed out on a record 35th Test ton against Pakistan in Mohali.
"All of us in the dressing room were eagerly waiting for the world record," said Sehwag after Tendulkar made 94.
"We were all dejected, so was Sachin. Maybe we will see him score a century in the next match."
Sehwag, who made 173, added: "We lost a lot of time yesterday and with my pace of scoring we have made it up."
India's run rated dropped dramatically following Sehwag's dismissal, though.
More than half the runs came during the morning session when he was at the crease.
But the attacking batsman put the dip in production down to Pakistan's policy of sticking with spin bowling and refusing the new ball until 20 overs after it became due.
"When I play my natural game which involves lot of shot-making, you are bound to be dismissed at some point," he explained.
"They didn't take the new ball. The old ball was very soft and it was difficult to score quickly."
