Lawson had figures of 8-102 in the first Test against Sri Lanka |
West Indies paceman Jermaine Lawson can carry on bowling after an independent review of his action. He was reported to the International Cricket Council for the second time after a Test against Sri Lanka in July.
His action "does currently fall within the prescribed 15 degree level of tolerance permitted", said ICC general manager Dave Richardson.
"It is important to be aware, however, that no bowler is ever cleared as they could revert to bad habits," he added.
"All bowlers are subject to further reporting if the match officials are of the view that they have concerns about whether a delivery or deliveries conform to the laws of cricket when observed with the naked eye."
The review of Lawson's action was carried out by biomechanist Dr Paul Hurrion of University College Chichester.
The Jamaican is hoping to be picked for the West Indies tour to Australia, which begins next month.
But he will miss a training camp in Barbados from 27-30 September following surgery on his ankle.
The West Indies Cricket Board says 29 invited to make themselves available for the tour have done so, but Brian Lara and Chris Gayle will also miss the training camp because they have been chosen for the ICC World XI to play Australia in next month's Super Series.
