India cricket boss cool on crisis
Ganguly and Chappell
Reports suggest a rift between Ganguly and Chappell
India's cricket board president has dismissed suggestions of a team crisis after reports of a row between captain Sourav Ganguly and coach Greg Chappell.

Ganguly revealed he had been asked to step down as captain on tour in Zimbabwe, prompting a frenzied response from the media at home.

"There is no question of any crisis," Ranbir Mahendra told BBC Hindi.

"The second Test is starting on Tuesday and once the tour ends, the board will discuss and take remedial action."

The second Test brings to a close India's lengthy spell on tour in Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, former Australia batsman Chappell's first trip as coach.

The team played triangular one-day series in both countries, losing in the final on both occasions.

"There will be a thorough review of the recent performances after this tour is over," Mahendra added.
