Buchanan admitted his position was under threat after the Ashes defeat |
Australia coach John Buchanan says he wants to remain in the job despite his side's 2-1 Ashes defeat by England. "I'm keen to continue but I'm part of the mix, so it's not really up to me to venture into that debate," he said.
"My position should not be exempt, just the same as everybody else in Cricket Australia," he added.
"If you win, as we see with England, (there are) lots of tumultuous celebrations and accolades, and if you lose everyone looks for reasons why."
Buchanan's side became the first Australian team to lose an Ashes series since the 1986/87 season following the draw at The Oval on Monday, which saw the five-Test series end 2-1 in England's favour.
And the under-pressure Australian boss admitted there would have to be a thorough examination of the issues that have arisen during the summer.
"Everything has to be reviewed. There's no doubt about that," he said.
"Success or non-success, you're always trying to work out how you can improve things."
