Australia captain Ricky Ponting admitted he was concerned about his side's form following their shock five-wicket loss to Bangladesh.

The Australians started badly and were nine for two before recovering to post 249-5, but Mohammad Ashraful's unbeaten ton saw Bangladesh to victory.

"This is probably one of the biggest upsets in the history of cricket and my worst defeat as captain.

"If this doesn't shake us up, nothing will," Ponting commented.

Australia won all six previous meetings between the two teams easily but have struggled in all departments of the game since arriving in England.

"Bangladesh have got those runs pretty easy today and they controlled the game through the middle of theirinnings. That is a bit of a worry.

"It is not just the bowlers. Our batsman should have made more than 249 against Bangladesh as well and it turned out not to be enough runs.

"Each and everyone of us who wore the green and gold today has got to have a good hard look at ourselves," said Ponting.

"Is it setting the tone for the tour? I wouldn't be going that far yet. We are a week and a half into a three and a half month tour. It is not that bad yet.

"There is still a long time left in this summer for the team to hit their straps. It is going to be a good test for us to see how much we want to do that.

"If you lose games, you've got to look at little things that add up to you not performing well on the day.

"We did not execute our skills well. We've got to try and pick the game to pieces as much as we can and find those little things that are missing," he added.
