Former England Test all-rounder Gavin Hamilton is hoping to resume his Scotland career once again. Following a four-year mandatory absence to re-qualify for Scotland, Hamilton has been selected in the squad for the European Championships in Holland.
One obstacle to his taking part could be the birth of his first child in the next few weeks.
Scotland will play Ireland, Holland, an ECB XI and Denmark in the series of 50-over matches later this month.
Craig Wright, Stewart Bruce and Paul Hoffmann are recovering from injuries, but are included.
Wright said: "The Europeans will see us competing against the other top associate member countries in Europe.
"And our performances against Holland and Ireland will serve as a good indicator of how far we've progressed as a national team as a result of our experiences in the NCL.
"Everything we do, whether it's the Scottish Saltires competing in the totesport matches, or the European Championships, is preparation for the World Cup qualifiers next year in Ireland.
"Furthermore, it's important that we keep doing all we can to push our case at International Cricket Council level for achieving our goal of one-day international status."
