Zimbabwe's second string team lost to Sri Lanka and Australia |
Zimbabwe cricket chief Peter Chingoka fully expects the team to resume Test matches at the start of the year. The Zimbabwe Cricket Union agreed last week to suspend its Test matches for the remainder of 2004 following a row over 15 sacked white players.
A second-string side was heavily beaten by Sri Lanka prompting calls about the integrity of cricket.
Chingoka, who has dismissed allegations of racism said: "We do not agree we are not up to Test standard."
The ZCU agreed to postpone Test series against Pakistan and England after pressure from the International Cricket Council, although one-day games will go-ahead.
They are scheduled to resume Test matches in January against Bangladesh.
Chingoka added: "We are intensifying our efforts to give our team the fullest possible experience and to help with their rapid improvement,"
