Scottish Saltires remain without a League win after Yorkshire cruised to victory by 59 runs in Edinburgh.

Put in, Yorkshire made a modest 199-8 from their 45 overs, with five players passing 20, but with a top score of only 33 by opener Matthew Wood.

England captain Michael Vaughan proved his fitness with four fours in 32 from 62 balls before he was run out.

Spinner Richard Dawson took 4-20 as the hosts were skittled for 140, Yasir Arafat top-scoring on 25 from 35 balls.

Saltires coach Tony Judd was dismayed by his side's batting performance.

"We capitulated, that is all there is to it. Several guys got starts but did not go on with it.

"It is great we did so well in the field but it is a shame we did not show a bit more fight with the bat," he said.

Vaughan, however, offered words of consolation.

"It was a tough game of cricket. When you come to these kind of pitches - it is a league wicket - it brings teams closer together," he said.

"It is never easy coming up here. You are always on a little bit of a banana skin, but we came through with full points."
