Yorkshire are hoping to sign a deal guaranteeing Test cricket at Headingley for the next 15 years. County chairman Robin Smith is aiming to complete the staging agreement between Yorkshire and the England and Wales Cricket Board.
He told the Yorkshire Post newspaper: "I would be very surprised if the deal is not concluded by the end of May.
"We are very conscious of the challenge from other grounds such as Durham and Hampshire and we can't be complacent."
