Opener Phil Weston's century was enough to take Gloucestershire into the third round of the C&G Trophy with a 72-run victory over Holland.

The defending champions posted 264-6 in Amstelveen, and bowled their hosts out for 192 with three overs to spare.

Weston, who hit 106 from 127 balls, shared a third-wicket stand of 139 with Matt Windows, who made 62.

Captain Mark Alleyne took three early wickets but Matthew Mott (41) and Edgar Schiferli (37) saved embarrassment.

Alleyne, who has lifted the trophy three times in the last six seasons, finished with 4-33 as the home side looked for late runs.

The county side managed ably without Pakistani duo Shoaib Malik and Shabbir Ahmed, who did not have suitable visas to make the trip.
