India v Australia has the makings of a highly competitive series

Australia may pull out of their tour of India if the dispute over telecast rights is not resolved imminently.

Cricket Australia has told Indian cricket chiefs it would be unacceptable for the series not to be aired on TV.

ESPN-Star Sports has challenged India's decision to award TV rights for all international cricket played in India until 2008 to rival network Zee.

Fresh bids for rights to the Australian series cannot be accepted until the wrangle is resolved.

Meanwhile, Australia's opening tour match on 30 September has been moved to Mumbai after criticism of the original venue in Hyderabad.

The three-day game against national champions Mumbai has been switched to the Brabourne stadium in the city.

Cricket Australia officials were critical of the Hyderabad stadium.

India's Board of Control for Cricket felt the new venue would be ready, but did not want to take any chances.

The first Test is on 6 October.
