Moss plays for Pura Cup winners Victoria |
Derbyshire have completed the signing of Australian all-rounder Jonathon Moss as an overseas player for 2004. The club turned their attention to Moss, 28, after first-choice Damien Wright pulled out with a knee injury.
"Jonathan is a proven performer, who will add real quality to our side", said Derbyshire director of cricket David Houghton.
Moss said: "I am really excited at the prospect of joining up with Derbyshire and can't wait to get over to England."
Moss, who made his first-class debut for Victoria four years ago, averages 46.87 with the bat at domestic level, and 46 wickets in 28 appearances.
Houghton explained the club had altered their requirements from a bowler who batted, like Wright, to a batsman who bowls.
Moss will join up with the squad in early May, following his wedding on 16 April - the first day of the season.
