Khan damaged a hamstring during the Test series in Australia |
India have been boosted by the news key paceman Zaheer Khan should be fully fit for next month's tour of Pakistan. Zaheer damaged a hamstring during the third Test against Australia in December and has not played since.
The left-arm seamer told the Indian press he was on course for the six-week tour that will take in three Tests and five one-day internationals.
"I am very confident of being fit for the tour. It will take another two weeks to recover completely," he said.
Zaheer added: "I am very happy with the progress I have made so far as I feel much much fitter than I was feeling four weeks ago."
"I am getting treated by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) doctor Dr Anant Joshi every morning and I do my daily work outs at the gym every evening."
The tour will be the first by an Indian national team to neighbouring Pakistan in 14 years.
Relations broke down following the 1989-90 tour when New Delhi accused Islamabad of backing cross-border terrorism in the disputed Kashmir region.
Pakistan toured India as recently as 1999 for three Tests and the two teams have continued to face off on neutral soil.
