 | Shane Warne pursues other sports while serving his ban from cricket |
Shane Warne has accepted he will no longer take part in any official training until his 12-month drug ban ends in February.
The revelation comes after Cricket Australia (CA) was advised by the Australian Government that Warne should not be allowed to train while serving his suspension for taking a diuretic.
Warne had been training with the Victorian state team and was planning to work out with the national squad.
But on Friday, the 33-year-old said: "I have come to the decision that I am going to remove myself from all official training.
"I have made this decision as I do not want to place any teammates or anyone else in an awkward position but I will continue to work on my fitness and my cricket skills by myself and with some friends."
Warne also made it clear how he felt about the timing of the CA's new anti-doping guidelines.
"I think it's ridiculous that six months after the event to now say I can't train, it just seems there are too many agendas with too many people," he added.
The news continues a bad month for Warne after South African woman Helen Cohen Alon accused him of sending her lewd text messages on her mobile phone.
In light of the accusations, Gavin Varejes, an associate of Warne, has made a charge of extortion against the 45-year-old woman.
Three years ago, Warne lost the Test vice-captaincy after admitting he made similar phone calls to a British nurse.
