Connor is looking to build on the summer's success |
Clare Connor will lead a 17-strong winter training squad as the England Women's team prepare for a tour to South Africa next February and March. Nottinghamshire's Jenny Gunn is the only uncapped player in contention for a place in the tour party, which will be chosen in December.
One notable omission is Claire Taylor, who will be playing club cricket in New Zealand.
Taylor hit a Test century in the recent home series against South Africa.
"The players are now strating to show increased self-belief which will impact on future performances," coach Richard Bates commented.
All-rounder Sarah Collyer, a member of last winter's squad which toured Australia, will not be involved in the training programme because of injury.
