National League D2, Trent Bridge: Nottinghamshire 279/5 (45 overs) beat Somerset 244/8 (45 overs) by 35 runs Kevin Pietersen smashed a century to set Nottinghamshire on the way to a 35-run win over Somerset.
The 23-year-old thumped 17 fours and three sixes in an unbeaten 141 from just 104 balls.
He and Chris Read put on 87 for the sixth wicket off the last 10 over as Notts reached 279-5.
Carl Gazzard made 76 and Keith Parsons 39 in reply but Somerset were unable to accelerate their chase enough in the later overs.
Gazzard was caught by back-up keeper Shafayat off MacGill after Read went off injured, Ian Blackwell was caught in the deep off Andrew Harris and the remaining batsmen failed to make any impact.
