Boje undergoes surgery
Nicky Boje lies on the ground in pain after injuring himself
Boje was injured shortly after coming onto the field
South African spinner Nicky Boje was undergoing surgery on Wednesday on his fractured leg.

The 30-year-old snapped his left fibula and ruptured ligaments in his ankle during Tuesday's one-day defeat to England at Edgbaston.

He had only just come on to the pitch as a substitute fielder in place of Martin van Jaarsveld when he fell awkwardly fielding an innocuous shot into the covers.

Boje was having surgery at a hospital in Nottingham and was set to fly home to South Africa when fit enough.

He was not included in the squad for South Africa's five-Test series against England, which starts later this month at Edgbaston.

Van Jaarsveld was also injured in the game.

He had to have a scan after being struck by the ball in the groin area.

He has now been released from hosiptal and has re-joined the South Africa squad.

South Africa play Zimbabwe on Thursday at the Rose Bowl in Hampshire before playing England in the triangular series final at Lord's on Saturday.
