Tickets for final of the Twenty20 Cup are selling fast - even though a game has yet to be played in the new trophy competition. The finals will be held at Nottinghamshire's Trent Bridge ground on 19 July.
Tickets have just gone on sale and already 25% of the seats available to the general public have been snapped up within three days.
It will be the first time a major domestic final played away from the game's headquarters at Lord's in London.
Twenty20 cricket is 20-overs per side and will be finished within three hours.
The 18 counties are split into three zonal groups with the top team in each group and the best overall second team progressing to the semi-finals and final, which will all be held on the same day at Trent Bridge.
The first matches begin on 13 June and the last of the group games on 24 June.
Sales and marketing manager Lisa Pursehouse said: "With a brand new competition like the Twenty20 Cup we were dealing with an unknown quantity so could not be sure exactly how the public would react.
"But the nation's cricket fans already seem to be extremely excited by the prospect of this new form of the game and as a result we've been selling tickets to people from all over the country.
"To do that before the competition starts and without even knowing who the four teams competing on the day might be is a terrific achievement."
