Riders clinch Fours title
Charlotte Edwards
Charlotte Edwards averaged 59 during the competition
England's Charlotte Edwards lifted the trophy after the Knight Riders outplayed last season's champions in the final round of Super Fours matches at Oxford.

They defeated The Braves by five wickets, with Lydia Greenway making 87 not out.

The Knight Riders were given an early lift when Jenny Gunn dismissed England captain Clare Connor for five.

But Lucy Pearson was the pick of the bowlers with 4-20 as The Braves were bowled out for 164 despite half centuries by Mandie Godliman (52) and Sue Redfern (53).

Edwards launched the reply with 21 before she was bowled by Melissa Reynard, but Greenway hit 10 boundaries in her 121-ball innings as she and Jenny Gunn (21 not out) saw the Knight Riders home with 4.1 overs to spare.

Arran Thompson played the starring role with 98 as the V Team registered their only win of the competition by defeating the Super Strikers by 66 runs.

Opener Hannah Lloyd made 34 for the Super Strikers, but the most enterprising batting came from number 11 Penny Arnold, who matched Lloyd's score before they were all out for 154.
