Tour match, Benoni : Pakistan 158-7 beat South Africa A 206-6 by three wickets (D/L method)

Pakistan beat South Africa A by three wickets in a rain-affected match in Benoni.

Faisal Iqbal scored an impressive half-century as the tourists secured victory under the Duckworth/Lewis method.

Iqbal, 21, a nephew of Pakistani batting legend Javed Miandad, hit 59 as the tourists reached a revised target of 157 off 29 overs after almost three hours of play was lost because of rain.

The young batsman, who has played in seven one-day internationals, steadied the innings after both opening batsmen, Taufeeq Umar and Saleem Elahi, were out without scoring.

Pakistan slipped to 40 for four before Iqbal and Abdur Razzaq (24) put on 61 for the fifth wicket.

After Iqbal was run out, a slimmed-down Inzamam-ul-Haq made an unbeaten 23 off 16 balls to see Pakistan to victory with two balls to spare.

Earlier Jacques Rudolph boosted his outside chance of being selected for South Africa's World Cup squad when he made 95 for the South African team.

The left-handed Rudolph, 21, took South Africa to 206 for six after winning the toss and batting on a slow pitch.

Pakistan captain Waqar Younis led a tight bowling performance, taking two for 43. He took one for 10 in his first six overs.

Abdur Razzaq was the most successful bowler, taking three for 52.

Pakistan play South Africa in the first of five one-day internationals in Durban on Sunday.
