Weather gets in Sami's way
Mohammad Sami in full flight
Sami took four wickets against a strong home side
Tour match, Randjesfontein: Pakistan (229-9 dec) drew with Nicky Oppenheimer XI (187-9)

Mohammad Sami impressed with bat and ball but Pakistan could not force a result in the opening match of their South African tour against a Nicky Oppenheimer XI in Randjesfontein.

Sami hit a valuable 35 runs in a ninth wicket partnership of 73 with Abdur Razzaq, who top-scored with 63, to take the tourists from a precarious 130 for eight to 229 for nine.

And the paceman then took four for 52 to reduce the home side, containing four of South Africa's one-day squad, to 127 for eight.

Fellow opening bowler Mohammad Zahid contributed three for 45.

But Gauteng batsman Zander de Bruyn anchored a tail-end fightback, hitting 83 not out in a two-hour innings.

And bad light intervened in the 48th over to put an end to any hope of a result.

Pakistan play five ODIs and two Tests in South Africa

2nd Test, Cape Town

1st Test, Durban
