Sri Lanka accept Morocco invitation
The Sharjah Tests did not attract big crowds
Pakistan played West Indies in Sharjah earlier this year
Sri Lanka have confirmed they will join Pakistan and South Africa in a one-day tournament in Morocco in August.

As BBC Sport Online revealed in February, Tangiers is set to make its international debut with the tournament.

The one-day tournament, which will run from 12 to 21 August, will have prize money totalling $250,000 (171,000), with the winners taking home $120,000 (82,000).

Sanath Jayasuriya's side have a hectic schedule, returning home from their tour of England on 14 July, and then fitting two Tests and three one-day internationals against Bangladesh into 17 days.

The Tangiers ground will undergo an inspection from the International Cricket Council in June.

And, if the tournament is successful, the venue could host Pakistan's Test series against Australia in October.

Several Australian players said this week that they would not travel to Pakistan even if asked to by their board.

Their announcements game after a bomb exploded in Karachi last week, near to the hotel in which the New Zealand team were staying.

The Black Caps immediately abandoned the remainder of their tour.

The Cricketers' Benefit Fund Series (CBFS) owns stadiums in Tangiers and Sharjah and organises the twice-yearly Sharjah one-day tournaments.

The desert venue hosted two Tests and three one-day internationals between Pakistan and West Indies in February after the Caribbean team expressed security fears.

But the stands were empty as the longer form of the game failed to appeal to the expat community.
