Openers Taufiq Umar and Shadab Kabir, who were unbeaten overnight, pressed on to add 62 for the first wicket, with Kabir scoring a fluent 92. Kabir missed out on a century when he lofted a delivery from spinner Fahim Muntasir to substitute Mohammad Alamgir at long-on. But no other Pakistan batsman passed 50 despite several making good starts. Abdur Razzaq chipped in with 42 and Umar scored 36, but Bangladesh A's bowlers stuck well to their task. First innings century-makers Inzamam-ul-Haq and Yousuf Youhana did not bat as Pakistan finally declared on 242-7 at tea, a lead of 344.
