Langer suffers bouncer repeat
Justin Langer is keen to retain his Test spot
Langer receives treatment from the team doctor
Australian batsman Justin Langer has been taken to hospital for the second time in three months after being hit on the head while batting.

He was struck by a ball from Queensland's Andy Bichel at the start of the final day's play of Western Australia's Pura Cup game in Brisbane.

The left-hander, who is hoping to hang onto his Test place for the forthcoming series against New Zealand, underwent a precautionary scan but was able to return to the ground and continue his innings.

He was eventually caught off Adrian Dale for 27 as Western Australia were all out for 207 in their second innings, leaving Queensland to score 165 to win.

The home side reached their target in just 27.3 overs, with Andrew Symonds making an unbeaten 75 to steer them to a six-wicket win.

Langer spent most of the summer on the sidelines during the Ashes tour in England.

But he reclaimed his place in the team for the final Test at the Oval in August and scored 102 before retiring hurt after being hit by a bouncer from Andy Caddick.

He began the Australian domestic season well and made 96 in the first innings against Queensland.

There was good news for the national selectors as Ricky Ponting scored 154 for Tasmania as their match against New South Wales in Sydney ended in a draw.

The new Tasmanian skipper hit a six and 27 fours in his 166-ball innings and shared century stands with Jamie Cox (80) and Shane Watson (58 not out).
