Friends Life t20, Leek |
Derbyshire 141-4 (18.5 ovs) beat Warwickshire 137-4 (20 ovs) by six wickets |
New Zealand international Martin Guptill hit 72 off 44 balls as Derbyshire cantered to a six-wicket FL t20 win over Warwickshire at Leek.
Guptill hit six sixes as Derbyshire chased down Warwickshire's 137-4 with seven balls to spare.
The Bears had earlier been indebted to an unbeaten 55 from captain Jim Troughton as they recovered from 33-3.
Darren Maddy (21) and Rikki Clarke (25 not out) also contributed but it was not enough as the hosts won with ease.
A sixth defeat in 11 games leaves Warwickshire with only a slim chance of reaching the knockout stages, but Derbyshire's victory ensures they are very much in contention for a top-four finish in the North Group.
