Pace pair get SA call
Allan Donald and Lance Kluesener are both included

Andre Nel, who gained notoriety after he felled Allan Donald with a bouncer, has been included in the South African Test squad to tour West Indies.

Nel is the only player in the Test squad of 16 who has not played international cricket.

He is joined by one-day specialist Roger Telemachus in the squad as the only other player yet to make his Test debut.

The 23-year-old Nel provoked a row in South African cricket when he twice bowled bouncers in the same over to Donald in a domestic match.

One-day changes

Donald was hit by one of them and later accused Nel's coach Ray Jennings of placing a 'bounty' on his head.

Donald is also in the Test squad for the first full tour of the Caribbean by a South African side.

Left-arm wrist spinner Paul Adams is recalled after losing his place to Nicky Boje.

Selection convenor
Selection convenor Rushdi Magiet confirmed, meanwhile, Nel has been picked primarily as back-up to Donald.

He said: "He is young and strong and doesn't give up. He is the sort of bowler who is likely to be just as quick in his third spell as he is in his first."

The only other newcomer is in the one-day side where all-rounder Justin Ontong gets his first chance at international level.

Ontong and Jonty Rhodes will replace Daryll Cullinan and Paul Adams for the one-day series.

South Africa leave for West Indies on 28 February and play five Tests and seven one-day internationals in the Caribbean.
