Scotland fans had a tough time at the RK Khanna Stadium

Wednesday was a tough day for the Scottish tennis team. We lost all four matches that we played and now just have one remaining team in the mixed doubles.

Colin Fleming and I ended up taking a bit of a hit against the Indian doubles pairing of Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna in the night match.

Once they got ahead in the match they began playing some great shots and, buoyed by the vociferous home support, everything they touched turned to gold.

The stadium was packed and the amount of noise that the Indian people generated made it a great atmosphere to play in

It's pretty tough playing tennis in India, which is borne out by their great home record in the Davis Cup - not many teams get an away win there.

The extreme heat and humidity take its toll on you. I played three matches during the night sessions and the number of bugs and insects that flood the courts is incredible.

They literally fall out the sky and litter the courts and you're constantly kicking them off the court or swatting them away with your racket.

Even though we lost rather disappointingly in the doubles, it was a pretty cool experience to play in the match.

The stadium was packed and the amount of noise that the Indian people generated made it a great atmosphere to play in, a testament to the local support.

Team Scotland is very professionally run, which is a great thing for the athletes as they can concentrate solely on performing to the best of their ability. Fingers crossed we can put together a good medal haul.

I enjoyed my time in India and have been made to feel very welcome by the local people.

From my experiences they want to ensure everybody enjoys their time at the Games and leaves with a positive, lasting impression of India.
