Bosson claims Greco-Roman 60kg silver England's Terrence Bosson had to settle for silver at the Commonwealth Games after losing in the 60kg Greco-Roman wrestling final to Ravinder Singh. The Indian led the first round 2-0 and delighted the home crowd with a second round fall to finish 9-0 and take gold. The South Africa-born Bosson, 25, said: "He was hard, aggressive and tired me out. It means I must try harder, train harder and try harder for next time." Bosson, who lives in Newcastle, won a silver medal at the Europeans in May. In front of a rowdy Delhi crowd, the Indian favourite claimed gold after holding Bosson flat on his back with a fall to add to his three Commonwealth championship titles at this weight since 2005. "Now I know what it takes to win a medal at a major championships," said Bosson, who also bagged a bronze at the Commonwealth championships three years ago and a silver in June's English Senior Wrestling Championships. "You don't worry about the noise, you just focus on your game. I thought I could win but the first round put me off. He drained me of a lot of energy and that made it hard. "But I am proud of what I've done. It's been a good experience but he was very hard and aggressive. He was very aggressive and he outpowered me in the second round. Bosson won the first of 26 South African titles at the age of 14 before switching allegiance to England in 2006. He qualifies for English nationality because of his father (born in Windsor) and has lived in Newcastle for four years. Wrestling has made a welcome return to the Games in India after not being included in Melbourne four years ago and is making only its third appearance at a Commonwealths in the the last six Games. It is listed to be part of the Glasgow 2014 competition, as it was when Scotland last hosted the Games in 1986. Greco-Roman differs from the freestyle format by wrestlers not being allowed to attack their opponent's legs or use their own to lift. Bosson's silver is the first wrestling medal won by England for 16 years when their wrestlers picked up three silvers and a bronze in Victoria, Canada. The Delhi Games is also the first to allow women to compete in wrestling.
