Sam Sexton unfazed by Derek Chisora's confident claims

Sam Sexton says there is no way Derek Chisora will beat him again when the pair meet in Birmingham next month.

The 26-year-old from Norwich puts his Commonwealth title up against the Londoner's British belt at the LG Arena on Saturday, 18 September.

Chisora recently listed his preferred opponents after the pair clash, but Sexton says he is getting carried away.

"I've just improved so much there's no way he can beat me, and he knows it as well," he told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"I know it, he knows it, everybody knows that his hardest fight to date was me at 40%.

"I've come on so much since then, I was an amateur fighting in a pro ring then, my style's a lot different now, I'm stronger and I'm fitter," he added.

Chisora inflicted Sexton's only defeat as a professional when the pair met at Bethnall Green's York Hall in June 2008.

Sexton has since claimed Southern Area, Prizefighter and Commonwealth titles, with the latter won and defended in Martin Rogen's Belfast.

He was due to fight Danny Williams for the British title in February, but a critical family illness halted his training, with Chisora stepping in to demolish an ailing Williams.

Sexton says his preparations for the next fight are in full swing.

"There's only one way to say it, it's hard. We're doing a lot of hard runs at the moment, hill-loops and stuff like that on the road with Neil Featherby," he said.

"In the gym with Graham [Everett] we're doing a lot of strength sessions with medicine balls, weights, pads, bag, it's hard."

Sexton v Chisora is on Frank Warren's much-hyped "Magnificent Seven" bill, one of the biggest nights in years for British boxing.

And Sexton is looking forward to joining Ezno Maccarinelli, Nathan Cleverley, James DeGale and Frankie Gavin, among others, on the Birmingham card.

"You're not going to get a bigger show than this, I can't remember seeing a show this big with seven title fight on it.

"What a bill to be on, and what a bill to win the British title on," he said.
