Owen is one of two unbeaten fighters in the next Prizefighter line-up |
Swansea super-bantamweight Ricky Owen will put his unbeaten record on the line in the next Prizefighter event. The 25-year-old southpaw will take part in the big-money, eight-man, one-night tournament at the York Hall on 29 May. Owen has won all 11 of his fights (four by knock-out) in a stop-start, six-year career, but now faces three three-round bouts in a night if he is to triumph. Belfast's former WBC world champion Wayne McCullough, 39, is expected to be the favourite for the event. Craig Lyon (St Helens), Mark Moran (Liverpool), Esham Pickering (Newark), Gavin Reid (Redcar), Chris Riley (Middlesbrough) and Josh Wale (Barnsley) will also be competing. The draw for the quarter-finals has yet to be made.
