Vitali Klitschko predicted John Ruiz would be a tough fight for Haye
The Klitschko brothers are considering flipping a coin to decide who might fight Britain's WBA heavyweight champion David Haye in the future. WBC champion Vitali and his brother Wladimir - the WBO, IBF and IBO champion - are eyeing Haye's WBA crown if he beats John Ruiz on 3 April. "The main obstacle for this match for me is Wladimir," said Vitali. "We can't make up our minds as to who will be boxing with Haye. "We'll probably have to toss a coin." On Saturday the 33-year-old Wladimir Klitschko retained his WBO and IBF heavyweight titles by knocking out challenger Eddie Chambers in Germany, while Vitali Klitschko is due to fight European champion Albert Sosnowski on 29 May. | 606: DEBATE |
Haye's bout with Ruiz in Manchester is the 29-year-old Briton's first title defence. The American is the WBA's mandatory challenger for Haye, who defeated Nikolay Valuev in November to clinch the WBA title. "For this match to take place, Haye has first to prove his world champion title against Ruiz," said the 38-year-old Vitali. "Haye is world champion for the WBA version, but he is not an absolute world champion."
