Bradley Pryce celebrates his win over Michael Monaghan
Former Commonwealth light-middleweight champion Bradley Pryce bounced back from losing his title with a fine 10-round points win over Michael Monaghan.
The 28-year-old won every round on his home turf at the Newport Centre, turning on the style but failing to stop the game and durable Monaghan.
"I want a British or Commonwealth title bout in two fights," said Pryce.
"I've beaten [British and Commonwealth champion] Anthony Small before, so let's get it on again."
Pryce, known as 'Sugar Sweet', suffered a brutal second-round knock-out against Matthew Hall in March to lose his Commonwealth crown.
Hall lost in his next bout against Small in July, a man stopped by Pryce in seven rounds in 2007.
Pryce, trained and promoted by Enzo Calzaghe and his son Joe, says he was suffering from bulimia at the time of the Hall bout and he has since brought in a dietician as part of a new fitness regime.
Pryce can now boast a professional record of 28 wins and seven defeats.
Lincoln's Monaghan, a 33-year-old former sparring partner of Joe Calzaghe, has 18 wins and 26 defeats to his name.
