Former Commonwealth heavyweight champion Martin Rogan has insisted that there was no dispute behind his split with trainer John Breen.

Rogan, preparing for a rematch with Sam Sexton, has moved to the Bosco gym under new trainer Paul McCullough.

"I have absolute respect for John Breen as a person and a trainer and there has been no falling out," said Rogan.

"There has been no falling out and my decision to change trainers was simply because I felt it was time to move on."

Rogan lost his Commonwealth belt to Sexton in May and they are due to meet again at the Odyssey on 9 October.

Rogan came to prominence in 2008 when he won the inaugural Prizefighter television tournament.

He then beat former Olympic champion Audley Harrison in December that year before clinching the Commonwealth crown with an 11th-round stoppage against Matt Skelton.

But things went wrong when Rogan lost to Norwich's Sexton in controversial circumstances at Belfast's Odyssey Arena.

Rogan seemed to have Sexton out on his feet in round eight but failed to finish him off.

Sexton then won as an eye injury left Rogan unfit to carry on.
