McArthur knows he will need to raise his game if he faces McAllister at lightweight |
Clydebank light-welterweight Gary McArthur defeated Polish fighter Arek Malek on points in front of a noisy home support at the town's Play Drome. McArthur was judged to have won all six rounds but the so-called "Clydebank Blitz" was unhappy at his performance. The victory could set up a £100,000 clash for the Commonwealth lightweight title if Aberdeen's Lee McAllister beats Ghana's Godfred Sowah on 19 June. "I'll up my game for McAllister if we meet," said McArthur after the bout.
