Barker lived up to his 'Dazzling' nickname |
Darren Barker stopped Darren McDermott in style inside four rounds to defend his Commonwealth middleweight crown. The Barnet boxer floored his opponent from Dudley with a devastating right, although McDermott wanted to fight on. Barker, 27, making a third defence of his title, improved his unbeaten record to 20 wins, 13 by knockout. McDermott, 30, backed by a vocal following at the Watford Colosseum, suffered his second defeat as a professional, falling to 15-2-1. | 606: DEBATE |
The fight acted as an eliminator for a British middleweight title challenge, and Barker is now keen to face reigning champion Matthew Macklin.
