Hatton still undecided on future

Hatton will not make hasty retirement plans

Ricky Hatton has still not decided whether he will continue boxing or retire from the sport.

Hatton, 30, was knocked out inside two rounds by Manny Pacquiao as he lost his IBO light-welterweight world title in devastating fashion in Las Vegas.

The defeat was only the second loss of the Manchester boxer's 47-fight career.

He told BBC Radio Five Live: "I need to spend time with the family and don't want to make any hasty decisions when I'm not in the right frame of my mind."

Hatton required a brain scan following the knockout and conceded he is still unsure if he has a future in boxing.

"I don't really where my mind is at the minute," he added.

"The family were very upset and that's why I want time with them.

"After I get back to normality and get into my usual routine then perhaps I'll be able to make a decision in a few weeks.

"I'm not saying it is over yet but I am not in a position to make a final call. My head was in bits after the fight and I am still in recovery mode. It all happened so quickly."
