Jeffries is not looking to fight Tony Bellew any time soon |
Olympic bronze medallist Tony Jeffries says it would take something special for him to fight fellow light-heavyweight Tony Bellew. Jeffries, 23, who turned professional earlier this week, is good friends with Liverpool's Bellew from their time representing Great Britain together. "If it was a big world-title fight I think I'd fight him," Jeffries told BBC Radio Merseyside. "I wouldn't want to fight him before that as he's a good friend of mine." Bellew boxed as a heavyweight in the amateurs before growing disillusioned with the international set-up and turning professional in 2007. He has since dropped down to light-heavyweight and has won his first seven fights in the paid ranks, with four of those wins by knock-out. Sunderland's Jeffries added any potential match-up between the two men would need to be mutually beneficial. "There would have to be a lot of money involved," said Jeffries.
