Ryan Barrett won the English super-featherweight title by defeating Femi Fehintola at the Hotel de France on Saturday night.

In the first professional boxing show in Jersey for twenty years, Barrett knocked out Fehintola in the third round of a scheduled ten round fight.

"Without a doubt it's the best win of my career," said Barrett.

"He was open for it, we knew he was a bit vulnerable and it paid off, I hit the jackpot."

Jersey boxer Danny Maka, making his professional debut on the undercard, impressed with a points win over Peter Dunn.

He told BBC Radio Jersey: "I think I learnt a lot in those six rounds, I proved that I can go professional, I'll just go from here and see what happens."
