Klitschko's fists were first covered in boxing gloves then used nappies |
Boxing champion Vitali Klitschko has revealed that his son's wet nappies aided his recovery after he defeated Nigeria's Samuel Peter. The Ukrainian won the WBC heavyweight title last weekend when his opponent retired after the eighth round. And Klitschko told German newspaper Bild that the nappies help to keep his fists from swelling. "Baby wee is good because it's pure, doesn't contain toxins and doesn't smell," said Klitschko. Klitschko, whose brother Wladimir is the IBF and WBO title-holder, said that he got the idea from his grandmother. And the boxer, nicknamed Dr Iron Fist and a keen chess player with a Ph.D in philosophy of sports science, added: "I wrap nappies filled with my three-year-old son Max's wee around my fists. "The nappies hold the liquid and the swelling stays down."
