Wayne Elcock says he does not expect his next fight to be a rematch with fellow Brummie Darren McDermott.

Their British title bout in Wolverhampton on Friday night ended early after McDermott suffered a cut under his left eye in the second round.

"It's going to take a bit of time for him to heal and I need to keep busy," Elcock told BBC WM.

"The fight could happen again as it was over before it had started. But it's not my priority right now."

But Elcock is still eager to return to action as soon as possible, as the fight against McDermott at Wolverhampton Civic Hall was his first of the year.

"I've still got to wait and see what they've got in the pipeline for me," said Elcock. "But I want to get out there as soon as possible.

"I'm still nice and fresh, I've come out injury free and I can get back in the gym as soon as possible and get another fight as soon as I can."
