Birmingham's Wayne 'Mad Dog' Elcock has withdrawn from his British middleweight title defence against Dudley's Darren McDermott because of a chest infection.

The two were due to meet at Birmingham's Aston Events Centre on 25 April, but a new date and venue will now be arranged.

Elcock said: "I am gutted to be out of this fight as until now training was going to plan and I felt fantastic.

"I was more than confident that I would retain my British middleweight title."
