Andy Bell claimed the British super-flyweight title by a unanimous points decision against Chris Edwards at the Barnsley Metrodome. Edwards, 31, had won the newly created belt with a split-decision victory over Jamie McDonnell in Wigan in December. But Bell, 22, who had lost to McDonnell earlier in his career, put his opponent on the canvas in round three. And as the fight progressed, Edwards tired and Bell took control to seal a 117-111, 115-113 and 117-111 decision. Bell said: "It is brilliant to win the belt, I've waited four years for this. "It was a tough fight all the way but I knew it would be tough against him."
