Unbeaten Liverpool featherweight Derry Mathews will unify the WBU and WBF titles if he beats current WBF champion Choi Tseveenpurev on 5 April. Tseveenpurev took the bout after Steven Foster Junior pulled out and British and commonwealth champion Michael Hunter turned the fight down. "I would have loved to take on Michael Hunter for whom I have total respect," Mathews told BBC Radio Merseyside. "Choi will be a tough opponent as he has a good record of knockouts." He added: "Not many people want to take him on but I'm focused on the fight and ready to take him on."
