Lynes's title was never seriously under threat |
Colin Lynes successfully defended his European light-welterweight title with a easy points win over Juho Tolppola. The Finn, who only took the fight at short notice, never posed a serious threat, with the judges ruling 120-118, 120-118, 119-109 in Lynes's favour.
The Essex boxer upped up the pace in the fifth and sixth rounds, where he landed 17 jabs to his opponent's one.
"I busted my left hand early but when you land that many jabs it has to bust some time," said Lynes afterwards.
