Alex Arthur wants to fight Joan Guzman next |
Interim WBO super-featherweight champion Alex Arthur says he wants to follow Joe Calzaghe's lead and unify his division as world champion. Arthur, 29, said watching Calzaghe unify the super-middleweight division in Cardiff was "inspirational".
"It made me want to go out and do the same," the Scot added.
Arthur faces Stephen Foster Jr at Edinburgh's Meadowbank Stadium on 15 December - the first defence of his title since defeating Koba Gogoladze.
Arthur said he was ambitious and keen to take advantage of the buzz surrounding boxing at the moment.
"Winning the interim WBO title is just the start of things for me," he said.

"I'd love to add the WBC, WBA and IBF titles to my collection - as well as the full WBO crown - and, with my promoter Frank Warren right behind me, I don't see why I can't achieve that."
Arthur said he would watch this weekend's WBO super-featherweight title fight between Joan Guzman and Humberto Soto.
"I'd love to fight Guzman next," said the Scot.
"He's one of the best fighters in the world. But, to be the best, you've got to beat the best, so I would've no qualms about facing him."
Arthur said Foster Jr was a quality fighter and stressed he would not underestimate him.
"He struggled to make featherweight and I believe he will be far more dangerous at super-featherweight," added the Scot.
"But I'm confident I'll have too much for him."
