Kevin Mitchell out to add to his Intercontinental belt. |
Commonwealth champion Kevin Mitchell's bid for the British super-featherweight title will now go ahead against holder Carl Johanneson in London on 8 March. Leeds man Johanneson, 29, had been set to meet 23-year-old Mitchell at Bethnal Green's York Hall earlier this month.
But the fight is now at the O2 Arena, as chief support to Enzo Maccarinelli and David Haye's world cruiserweight unification showdown.
Johanneson has not fought since October when he defended against Michael Gomez.

But, after Johanneson's late withdrawal from their previously scheduled clash last month due to a back injury, Mitchell now hopes to make up for lost time.
Mitchell instead fought veteran Edison Torres last week, who he despatched in three rounds. And, although denied the chance to fight at his preferred venue of York Hall, Dagenham boy Mitchell will still enjoy home advantage.
Johanneson now owns a Lonsdale belt outright after three successful defences of the title he first won against Billy Corcoran in London in July 2006, but Mitchell is confident.
He sees Johanneson as merely a stepping stone to an eventual meeting with interim WBO super-featherweight champion Alex Arthur.

"I was gutted when Johanneson pulled out on short notice with a supposed back injury," said Mitchell. "But I'm over the moon that the fight is back on.
"Carl ruined my Christmas and I'm going to knock him out on 8 March to give myself a belated present - the Lonsdale belt.
"He was only keeping it warm for so I hope he polishes it up before handing it over to me on the night.
"I've been waiting for a big fight like this for ages, and now I'm going to take my chance.
"Once I've won the British title I'm going to turn my attention to Alex Arthur."
